Alma Third Grade Fall Field Trip

Third Grade Field Trip

The Mrs. Goeldner's Third grade class enjoyed a day of outside activities on a chilly, wet day this past October 18th.   The first stop on the field trip took us to Trempeleau Wildlife Refuge.  The rain held back enough in the morning so that we were able to view migratory birds from an observatory deck.  Students learned how to do birding using binoculars.  After a rainy ride back to Alma and lunch at Rieck's park, the rain stopped.  The students were excited about touring Lock and Dam 4 right here in Alma.  They were amazed by the workings of the dam as well as being able to walk across the Mississippi River.  They even got to see a tow boat and barge go through the locks.
