The Alma-Pepin Golf Team had a phenomenal night on Thursday, April 25 setting a new school record of 166 at Cochrane. With their score, the Eagles finished first in the meet defeating CFC at their home course. The Pirates finished second with a 173, followed by Whitehall with a 181, and Eleva Strum with a 190. Leading the Eagles, Trenton Krzoska came in second place individually with a score of 38 followed closely by his teammate Keegan Stiehl who shot a 39. Anders Johansen scored a 44 and Madox Stewart recorded a score of 45. Next with a score of 46 was Ridge Lodermeier.
This conference win for the team was head coach Dan Noll’s first-ever conference golf win. Even more impressively, it is Alma’s first-ever conference win since the golf team started in 1973. Dan has been coaching for 39 years, so this win meant a lot to him. This couldn’t be possible without the new dual sports aspect making the golf team even more unstoppable than ever.
The golf team is doing well this year, but Dan is already preparing for next year by bringing TJ Lorenz along to show him the ropes of an official golf meet. Alma can’t forget about Ashton Radatz either who got a hole-in-one last week at the Osseo conference meet. It was the first hole-in-one for Alma in a conference meet since Dan Noll completed one while he was playing in 1987.
The conference leader right now is Cameron Lipinski; he won the meet individually with a score of 37. Cameron has come first in every conference meet this year while tying in one meet.
