Bo Schams is our student of the week. Bo works on his family farm with his parents, Ben and Holly and siblings Brody and Brynn. When Bo isn’t working on the farm, he is playing baseball. Bo’s favorite movie, coincidentally, is a baseball movie called Moneyball. At school, he looks forward to Ms. Jumbeck’s class, since it is his favorite class. He also enjoys the small school that he gets to experience here at Alma. When he graduates, he plans to take over the family farm and keep it going. We look forward to Bo exceeding expectations in his remaining years of high school. Congrats Bo!

The Alma Area School will host an elementary STUDENT ART SALE at the Spring Fling on March 23rd. Here's a sneak preview of a few items that will be there!
Evan Olson, Demetrius Bergmann, and Madox Stewart have been selected to play in the WFCA All-Star Football Game this July 20 in Oshkosh. They will be part of the North Small Team that is made up of Divisions 4-7. Each year, the very best high school football players and coaches are nominated to be a part of the WFCA All-Star Charity Football Games benefiting Children's Wisconsin. Of the 400 players nominated, 220 are chosen for the honor of playing in these prestigious games. The players and coaches chosen for this event participate in a week-long camp, which culminates in the annual North vs. South games. But their determination doesn’t just live on the field, each participant fundraises for Children’s Wisconsin – driving a goal to raise $750. These all-star players and coaches have left a legacy that will live for generations. Together, they have raised more than $5.3 million for Children’s Wisconsin.
Make a donation today to support your favorite player, coach, or team, and help Children’s achieve our vision of making Wisconsin’s kids the healthiest in the nation.

Alma Area School has decided to use their Out of School grant money towards a trial run of a new app called Sora! Sora is an online library for your kids to read at any time. Sora is installed on the student's Chromebook and can also be downloaded on your mobile devices. Sora has a wide variety of books, magazines, audiobooks, and more! The Alma School district hopes the students find the new app a success.
Just a little Leap Day fun in 2nd grade. We had fun doing some math activities celebrating this special day. We tried to see how far we could make our frogs leap, making them jump into cups, and making addition facts. It was "toad-ally" awesome!🐸

Meet Kori Gusa born on March 16th, 2012. Kori is our Student of the Week, who was selected for his hard work in the classroom. Kori looks forward to having science with Mrs. Glander when he is at school. Outside the classroom, he loves playing baseball and hopes Alma will have a huge stadium when he is in high school. When Kori is looking for a little snack, he chooses a Snicker bar. However when it comes to supper, Kori said you can never go wrong with a good bacon cheeseburger. Kori's dog, Summit, is by far his favorite out of the 3 dogs his family has. When asked who he looked up to, Kori answered with his dad. He said he loves to spend time with him no matter what they are doing. Finally, when Kori gets older, he said he would like to be a professional bowler, but if that plan fails driving a truck would do.

Student of the Week
The Student of the week this week is Macy Stewart. Macy is a 9th grade student and was already on varsity for volleyball and basketball. This year she is also doing track and field, but other than that she plays AAU basketball during the summer for Team Wisconsin. During the fall she enjoys hunting with her dad, Rob, and brother, Madox. She also enjoys shopping with her sister, Mya, and her mom, Heidi. Macy loves the school for many reasons. It could be because her dad is the superintendent at Alma, or because she loves going into English class to see her favorite teacher, Mrs. Krzoska. The one thing that she would change about the school was to have a bigger break period, so she can hang out with her many friends. After High School, Macy wants to go to Winona State University to study physical therapy. Congratulations to Macy Stewart and keep up the good work!
