This week we travel to the senior class. Henry Keeler has shown excellence within the classroom and has been chosen as this week's student of the week. Henry enjoys the teachers at Alma, but he said his favorite is Ms. Butterfield because she is very helpful with his homework. Speaking of homework, Henry dislikes homework given out throughout the day. When Henry isn’t busy with his schoolwork, he is working at Subway or playing Minecraft at his house. Henry has two siblings, Zachary and Jade. His parents are Adam and Whitely Keeler. Henry plans to enlist in the Army after he graduates in May.

Congratulations to Paula Duncan for winning Week 3 of Football Mania! Thank you for supporting our Junior Class.
A HUGE 'Thank you' to Sheila/Tom Huber of the Garden Gate (& greenhouses) for hosting the 'Out of School Time' porch pot community event with the Alma School District. The helping hands from Tracy Gurin, Addison Johnson, Julia Binner and Emma Myren on November 18th were greatly appreciated. Here are a few photos from the event.
Lady Eagles First Basketball Game of the Season
On Thursday, November 16, the Lady Eagles basketball team traveled to Mondovi to face the Lady Buffalos. The Buffalos came out strong in the first half. They set up a zone press after every made basket, causing the Eagles to crack under pressure. Alma-Pepin was finding open shots, but could not finish. At the end of the first half, the Eagles were trailing behind, 37-7.
The Eagles knew that they had a lot of work ahead of them if they wanted to make a comeback. Instead of staying in the 2-3 zone matchup that the Eagles ran in the first half, they decided to play some man-to-man defense. Shots finally started falling for the Eagles, but the Buffalos always had a response. The Lady Buffalos closed out their first game of the season with a, 67-27 victory over the Eagles. Mondovi had three athletes in double-digit scoring. Senior, Ava Grey, finished with 17 points. Juniors, Maddy Marten recorded 21 points, and junior, Samantha Bennett just made the list with 10 points. The Eagles leading scorer, junior, Finley Noll completed the game with 9 points.
The Eagles' next game and start of conference play is on November 28th, in Gilmanton against the Independence/Gilmanton Indees.

After finishing the pre-ACT test, the sophomore class went outside and enjoyed some football with the elementary students. Here at Alma, we take pride in having our high school students be positive role models to our younger students.

2023 Dairyland Honors Choir was held on Saturday, November 11th at Whitehall High School. The clinician was Dr. Christopher Hathaway, director of Choral Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Artistic Director of The La Crosse Chamber Chorale. It was an amazing opportunity for the nominated students to work with him. Congratulations to Alma's own Nikki Walker for being selected to go and for an outstanding performance!

Alma’s New and Exciting Class
Every school day at 2:34 p.m. eight Alma High School students get together in Mrs. Krzoska's classroom to let their creative minds flow. These individuals collectively call themselves the Alma Media Team.
The Muti-Media Marketing class isn’t for everybody. Students were hand-picked by Mrs. Krzoska due to their exceptional writing skills and determination. The class contains seniors, Madox Stewart, Cainnin Mann, Keegan Stiehl, and Ashley Bartlet, along with junior, Kainen Heller and sophomores, Trenton Krzoska, and Tori Creighton.
The primary objective of this class is to help keep their community and surrounding communities informed on what is occurring throughout the school day. The students have written articles about sporting events, FFA trips, class speakers, athletic highlights, and much more. These articles can be found on the Alma Area Schools Website, Facebook, as well as the Buffalo County Journal.
Not only has the class been writing, but they also have worked on the school website. The school website needed an update before, but now they are working on organizing and making the website easier to navigate. The class went as far as changing the complete layout of how the website is formatted.
The Media Team aspires that with their articles, the community, and others know about what is taking place beyond the front doors. You can find the students interviewing athletes after sporting events, along with getting as much information about their next article. The Media class has a lot more exciting articles to be published. Stay tuned and follow us on Facebook and our school website at Alma Area Schools.

Student of the Week
Our lucky winner for Student of the Week is seventh grader, Riley Weaver. Riley lives with his two parents Wes and Terra along with his older brother Gavin, who also attends Alma. After school, Riley spends his time participating in extracurricular activities such as basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring, and football in the fall. Not only is basketball Riley’s favorite sport, but his biggest role model is The Golden State Warriors’ point guard, Stephen Curry. His favorite activity outside of school is shopping with his mom. Riley’s favorite part, and also his most dreaded, is always having to push the cart for her. Riley loves it at Alma. His favorite thing here at Alma would be all the people he’s met here, especially his friends. Riley is so fond of Alma, he doesn’t have anything he would want to change about it. Riley may be a little biased, but his favorite teacher is Mrs. Glander. Riley has a very close relationship with our 6th-grade teacher because she is also his aunt! We want to congratulate Riley on being our student of the week! Keep up the good work.
