If at first you don’t succeed, try again. The fourth graders have been studying about the design process. The students were asked to design a rope out of toilet paper. Their first ropes were not so successful. They had a chance to try again. Some students designed toilet paper ropes that held more than 600 pennies. Yes… 600 pennies. In doing this, the students had fun learning the importance of failure analysis.

Rivermen Clubhouse kids helped trace themselves to help out the third grade teacher for a project for Friday. They enjoyed themselves. Plus the kids made poppies and more decorations for the lunch room for Veteran’s Day.

Rivermen Clubhouse kids were talking about Veterans Day and what it means. The kids got quizzed on how many stars, stripes and what the flag means. They listened well and made wonderful flags. The flags are displayed in the cafeteria. Thank you Mary and crew for letting us display them for our Vets. Thank you all of our men and women who served this great country!

The early bird Whitehall VEX IQ 2022-2023 SLAPSHOT game based engineeering challenge tournament was held from 8-4 yesterday. A few of the Alma School VEX club members put a current robot design to the test. It was an exciting day of STEM based hands on student learning. Monday all the VEX students will be back in the lab tocontinue to modify, redesign and test run their robots based on what each team learned yesterday. Congratulations to Team 4664A for their placement in the final round. They did VERY well.
