Hello to the Alma Area Schools community! I am Tanner Linse, a former student at Alma Area School. I am looking forward to working here within the building as one of the school's custodians. As a long time resident of Alma, I am happy to be working in the location I grew up my entire life. Here are a few things about myself. I enjoy being outdoors, fishing, and spending time with my family. I feel lucky to be working within the Alma School District to be close to home. Tanner Linse
My name is Chris Jumbeck, and I am excited to share my passion for agriculture and the FFA
with your students as your new Agriscience Instructor and FFA Advisor. I come from a family
that strongly values education. I was raised on a dairy farm and was active in FFA and 4-H. I
graduated from UW-River Falls and moved to CA to work for a plant genetics company before
returning to the area to work downriver at the neighboring C-FC School for 33 years. I really
enjoy traveling and have taken groups of students all over the US. I also like to hunt, watch
wildlife, garden, and cheer on the Packers. Christine Jumbeck.
Hello Alma!! My name is Anna DeMore. Many of you may know me as the previous First Grade student teacher with Mrs. Steinke. However, I am extremely pleased to announce that I am the new 5th Grade teacher at Alma Elementary School! I am very excited for many new adventures and fun memories I hope to cultivate in my classroom. A little background on me… I was born out of the country and adopted at a young age by my parents in Roseville, MN. I then attended elementary and high school in St. Paul, MN, and went onto Winona State University to further my education. My parents have instilled the value of education in me from a young age. At Winona State, I found my calling and passion for Elementary Education! Aside from learning, I also love being outside, playing softball, hiking, and reading a good book! I am thrilled to share my love of learning with my soon-to-be 5th graders! I cannot wait to meet you! -Ms. DeMore
"Hello Alma! My name is Tom Brand. I was a guest teacher in the district (very briefly, a few years ago) and I’m back -- this time for good. Allow me to reintroduce myself. Living and visiting all over the country, I developed an insatiable curiosity about all the facets of the natural world. Ecology was my greatest interest (and still is!) but I took an interest in rock climbing 15 years ago which led to a degree in geology and another in teaching earth and space science. After achieving my degrees, I worked as a guest teacher, first in Eau Claire, then on the far west coast of Canada. For the last three years, I have been teaching science in Marshfield Wisconsin. The busy cities of Stevens Point and Marshfield were a bit much for me, so here I am, where I will be the new science teacher doing my best to fill the ineffable shoes of Mr. Oie.I look forward to getting to know you all in the coming years and sharing how incredibly cool the world is with my students!" A big thank you goes out to Whitetails Unlimited, Durand Chapter for their generous donation of funds to help support youth archery in the Alma School District. Their donation will help safely update our aging genesis bows with new cables, bow strings, and arrow rests, along with dozens of new arrows and miscellaneous maintenance items. These items will help the students here in Alma learn to appreciate and experience archery as a sport and possibly gain a passion for a hobby like target shooting or hunting. Who knows? Maybe someday, Alma will have an Olympic athlete in archery. Keep on shooting for the Bullseye Durand Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited. You are hitting a 10 ring on our targets.
Sincerely,
Physical Education Teacher-Alma Area Schools
