Addison and Alyssa Johnson returned to Section 3 LDE (Leadership Development Events) to compete once more. Addison participated in the Discussion Meet, where she put forth a great effort but did not place. However, in her Prepared Public Speaking contest, she dominated, delivering her speech, “Drink Milk One Glass at a Time—Someone’s Future May Depend on It.” Her outstanding performance earned her first place, securing her spot at state once again. Alyssa competed in Extemporaneous Speaking, showcasing her skills, though she did not place. We wish Addison the best of luck as she heads back to the state competition!

Our Elementary Alma Pride winners did a great job being model citizens of our school this week. Keep up the great work!

Fraction Fun in Mrs. Rolbiecki’s 4th Grade Class!

Freshman student, Emma McMahon, is this week’s High School Student of the Week. Emma is the daughter of Kyrie McMahon and Andy Harety; she is the older sister of Banyn Harety. During the school day, Emma looks forward to shop class the most, but she loves how kind and caring Mrs. Krzoska is. Her favorite part about Alma is how small it is and how everyone is close with one another. After school hours, Emma participates in softball, dance, band, Forensics, and Teen Court. Emma’s favorite season is summer, mainly because she gets to play softball. Congratulations Emma, and keep up the great work!

Evelyn Rolbiecki, a Kindergartener, is this week’s Elementary Student of the Week. Her parents are Whitney and Scott, and she has two siblings, Waylyn and Wiley. Evelyn also has two cats, Socks and Pat, and one dog, Stella. One of Evelyn’s favorite foods is noodles. She has a special place in her heart for science because she enjoys experimenting with different things. When Evelyn grows up, she wants to become a mom because she would love to care for children while also having a job. Congratulations Evelyn, and keep up the great work!

After the 3rd grader has read their books, they will then ask the listeners which was their favorite. After votes are tallied, the favorite books will move further in the tournament. As the month goes on, the books will advance to The Elite Eight, Final Four, and then the most exciting, Championship round.

Go Eagles!

This week's Elementary Student of the Week is third grader, Marcella Degroot. She is the daughter of Skylar and Nicole Degroot and has one sibling, Celia. She also has two dogs, Ruby and Murphy. Marcella thoroughly enjoys coming to school, especially when they are serving breakfast sandwiches, her favorite school lunch. The subject she most enjoys learning is writing, specifically, writing stories. Marcella enjoys it when the third graders get to type out their stories on their Chromebooks. Other than writing, her favorite class is VEX. She enjoys getting the opportunity to explore building robots. Marcella plays basketball, at recess, but also outside of school with her tournament team. Another sport Marcella is involved in is softball during the summer, but she is thrilled to have the opportunity to play volleyball next year! For Marcella, the best part of school is the opportunity to see her friends and learn something new every day—especially when it involves writing! Congratulations Marcella, and keep up the great work!
