Congratulations Alma Area Schools students and staff on a great first week of school!!! We are back and in full swing with the Alma Pride Winners weekly! Just a reminder what Alma Pride is all about. Alma Pride is a positive behavior support program that we utilize throughout the Alma School District. The goal of this program is to recognize all of the positive behaviors that happen all the time in school, but often go unrecognized. In fact, many schools would say that almost 95% or more of the behaviors that are typically recognized are the negative ones. Not so at Alma! Through Alma Pride, all of our staff members have the opportunity to recognize students doing positive behaviors. Staff are able to easily select students doing positive things and then those students receive an automatic email or certificate letting them know that they were recognized doing some form of positive behavior (Ex: helping another student, picking up trash in the hallway, being polite, etc.). In addition, these students will also earn a point or ticket that will be placed in a weekly drawing. We will then have prizes that will be given away weekly throughout the school year. The Alma School District has tremendous students. We hold our students to the highest of expectations and we individualize a learning plan that challenges each student. Our students are held accountable and when issues arise, we take ownership and learn from it. Finally, we instill in our students that doing the little things right, make a big difference. That is 'Alma Pride!’ Here are your winners of Alma Pride for the first week of the 2021-22 school year! Looking forward to a great year!

Rivermen Clubhouse welcomed new friends! We wanted to thank everyone who helps support our group! Thank you!

Rivermen Clubhouse had another fun day! We snapped a photo after we had to say goodbye to our friends for the day. One fun thing we got to do today was hang out with a couple of the older girls. Whenever the big kids stop in we all enjoy our visits! It’s even a bonus when they play with us too. Tonight three older kids played flashlight tag with us. What fun we had! Welcome back! Rivermen Clubhouse kids had a fantastic first day! Meeting new friends along with old friends reconnecting! We sure did miss one another! Our group is getting bigger and are always looking for new families who are interested in joining the clubhouse.

The Alma School District has positions available; a One-to-One Paraprofessional and a Day Custodian. The one-to-one paraprofessional position will work directly with a student (under the direction of the assigned teacher) and will include transportation of the student to and from their district placement. This is a full time school year position. The Day Custodian position is a yearlong position working directly with our head of maintenance and transportation. The Day Custodian position also has the potential to be full time or split into two part-time positions.
