
The Alma School District has 2 full time positions available; a One-to-One Paraprofessional and a Day Custodian. The one-to-one paraprofessional position will work directly with a student (under the direction of the assigned teacher) and will include transportation of the student to and from their district placement. The Day Custodian position is a yearlong position working directly with our head of maintenance and transportation.

Position Responsibilities:
Carry out individualized areas of IEP's as developed and directed by teacher.
Carry out behavior modification plans developed and directed by teacher.
Help with individual, small group, and large group activities--both instructional and non- instructional in both regular and special education classroom environments.
Nurture independent behavior of students in school and community settings.
Help with other generalized classroom tasks as assigned.
Skills Required:
Ability to demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations and must be able to withhold confidential information.
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management, staff, and students as well as parents/guardians.
Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines and adapt to changing work priorities.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Qualifications:
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
High school graduate
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must hold a 2 Year Higher Ed Degree or must complete Para training and exam

The University of Minnesota Solar Vehicle Project (and team) including Andrew Brevick, Alma School alumni, will assemble in the Alma School parking lot for some final preparations during the day Sunday, July 25 on the way from Minneapolis to Independence, Missouri to compete in the American Solar Car Challenge. This is a student group that designs and builds a solar powered electric car to compete in a cross country road race, which this year travels from Independence, Missouri to Sante Fe, New Mexico. Andrew and team members have been working on this new car, Freya, over the last several years. The unveiling of the car for this event will happen in Minneapolis on Friday, July 23rd.
The public is welcome to stop by the Alma School parking lot during the day (11- 2) ish to check out Freya, or make sure to keep an eye out on the roads nearby as the team may be driving short loops for testing.

CONGRATULATIONS to Cole Arens! State Finalist in the 300 Meter hurdles! 9th place overall at the State Track meet today at UW-LaCrosse. Cole finished at state with a PR of 42.51.

Eagles Baseball will play their first round of Regional action tonight at Alma vs Elmwood-Plum City at 5:00 p.m. Being a regional game the WIAA has set an admission fee of $6 for adults/students and $1 for children under six years of age. The south entrance of the school will be blocked off so all spectators should enter at the north entrance and there will be a ticket taker on the road by the end of the school. Pre-game starts at 4:25 with home team taking the field, at 4:40 visiting team will take the field for warmups, Umpire/Coach Meeting at 4:55 and First Pitch at 5:00 p.m.

Alma-Pepin track athletes had success at the conference track meet at Independence on Monday, June 7. The Alma Pepin high school boy's track team took 3rd overall. Cole Arens took 1st in the 110 hurdles and first in the 300 hurdles. Cole Arens, Wil Smith, Axel, Noll and Demetrius Bergman took first in the boy's 4 X 400. Krissa Westberg took first in discus. Demetrius Bergman took 2nd in pole vault. Avery Wald placed 2nd in discus. The Alma-Pepin boys took 2nd in the 4 X 200 relay. Apollo Bergman took 2nd in shot.
